The fifth light ride through Rinteln will once again be very special. On Saturday, December 7, many brightly colored and flashing tractors will roll through the town. The organizing team will provide information in advance about special regulations, the process and donation accounts. Because once again, donations will be collected for a good cause.
Rinteln. “A spark of hope for agriculture!” – that is still the motto of the Rinteln Light Ride. What began four years ago with a few tractors has grown steadily. Currently, almost 100 participants have registered with the organizing team who want to make children’s eyes shine with their decorated vehicles.

Many local farmers have agreed to take part. Their drivers are already looking forward to the illuminated ride and are happy to spend hours decorating their vehicles. They will also be promoting the many farmers in the region.
farmers’ concerns
The farmers also want to draw attention to themselves through the light ride, because political decisions are still pending, which are causing farmers great concern. The family businesses want to be able to produce high-quality food in our region in the future, but also to maintain their businesses – like generations before them. On the farms, the farmers are happy to provide information about their work. The family businesses and companies also talk about laws, profitability, dependencies and the pressure of the market economy. Various businesses offer their products in farm shops and vending machines.
In order for the trip to take place, the organizers, Tim Marx, Andreas Siebold and Julia Holzgräfe, have to make a lot of preparations. In recent weeks, there have been many discussions with the city administration and the Rinteln police.
Your tractor convoy counts as a column on Saturday evening and has certain special rights. The convoy is allowed to continue driving at traffic lights when they turn red. Other road users must wait until the last vehicle has passed. No other vehicle is allowed to squeeze between the registered tractors.

Safety during the journey is the top priority. Urgent appeal to all parents and grandparents: “Please take your children by the hand and keep a sufficient distance from the edge of the road.” Because of the many lights, the drivers cannot see the area around their tractor very well in the dark. This time, the Rinteln fire brigade will also be securing the sidewalks at the Pferdemarkt and the “Große Tonkuhle” roundabout.
The light parade starts at around 5 p.m. on Hartler Street in the direction of Pferdemarkt. Spectators can watch the vehicles – at a distance from the road – from the Pferdemarkt to the Weser Bridge and at the Große Tonkuhle roundabout.
The farmers are asking for donations for social causes. This time, the donation accounts of Lebenshilfe Rinteln eV and Kinderschutzbund Rinteln eV will receive a lot of donations so that one or two of their heart’s desires can be fulfilled. There will be no fundraisers during the candlelight procession. Donations can only be made to their accounts.
